A New Church for Merced
We are gathering people together to form and grow a new church in Merced that embodies the mission of Micah Project:
”Walking together with God; with justice, kindness, and humility.”
How will this church be distinct?
We believe that God’s design for His church is diverse, so we are intentionally multiethnic. We embrace shared leadership by a team of racially and ethnically diverse women and men, starting with a interracial married couple serving as co-pastors.
We are rooted in the Christian church across the world and across time. We are part of a global community of churches (Anglicans) meeting all around the world, with worship practices formed by Christians from the very beginnings of the history of Christianity.
Within that larger community, we are part of a smaller group of churches seeking to love and serve those who do not yet have a church. Churches for the Sake of Others is a group that forms healthy Christian communities of people following Jesus and prioritizing those who do not yet know Him.
Participate
All of the ministries of the Micah Project Merced are open to those without any connection to our future church. We want to serve those in other churches in Merced and those who are not part of any church.
However, we believe that some of those who participate in our ministries will be drawn to make a church home with us. So, participate without any pressure to join, but know that the opportunity for joining a more committed community is always open to you!
Discover
We offer occasional church services to meet the needs of our members (and the broader community) until we can launch as a church. We also offer these services to introduce our way of being the church to those who might be interested. Come discover ancient and new ways of worshiping God, learning about Him, and receiving from Him.
Commit
For those who are ready for a greater commitment, we have several opportunities to join us.
We have regular team meetings for those who want to help us gather and grow this church.
We have learning opportunities for those who would like to discover more about Anglicanism and the values and beliefs of our church.
We are also regularly forming smaller groups who meet for prayer, support, and community. “Walking together” is an essential part of our way of walking “with God.”
